The Adaptec MaxIQ™ SSD Cache Performance Solution addresses the needs of I/O intensive data centers by creating high-performance hybrid arrays – storage arrays that use both solid state drives (SSDs) and hard disk drives (HDDs) – to deliver up to five times the I/O performance of HDD-only arrays, and up to 50% savings in costs.

Up to 5X faster performance Adaptec MaxIQ features customized Intel®-powered SSD cache with MaxIQ SSD Caching Software to deliver up to 5X faster application performance. The software introduces a patent-pending Learned-Path algorithm that alleviates the bottleneck that can occur between server processors and hard drives by copying frequently-read data directly into an optimized SSD cache pool for faster retrieval in future requests. MaxIQ also updates “hot” cached data on subsequent writes to the same blocks to maximize storage efficiency. Up to 50% lower capital and operating expenses The improved system performance reduces capital expenses by allowing data centers to more efficiently deploy servers and storage systems, increasing the number of users hosted per system and lessening the need for additional equipment. By deploying fewer servers and storage systems, data centers can also significantly cut maintenance and support costs as well as energy consumption.

Minimal integration required Ideal for data center and cloud computing environments with high “read” demands, such as web serving, file serving, and databases, MaxIQ is application-agnostic and does not require changes to storage architectures, application software or operating systems. The MaxIQ SSD Cache Performance Solution drops right into all industry-standard platforms, enabled with Adaptec storage controllers, providing seamless compatibility with today’s off-the-shelf IT components.

 

MaxIQ reads hot data from the SSD cache and routes cold data to the HDDs for maximum performance.
