Comments about Aten Aten CS1784 4-Port DVI KVMP Switch - 4 x 1 - 4 x Type B USB, 4 x DVI-I Monitor:
Finally, I can use the DVI features of my 23" widescreen monitor! I use four separate systems, constantly -- Windows XP Pro & Home, Ubuntu, and a semi-new Macbook Pro. The Aten CS1784 works great with all of them. I love that it allows me to switch systems but continue listening to music from my laptop. And it fixed all of my "issues" with the CS1764 -- USB 2.0, the keyboard and mouse plug into the rear, an extra shared USB port is in the front, and front-side audio ports, too! My only problem is that the custom cable doesn't have a long enough extension on the audio to plug into the DVI port on my Macbook Pro and still reach the speaker port on the other end of the 15" laptop, so I needed to buy an audio extension. Also, the cables themselves are a little short at 6ft for the video and a bit longer for the audio. Nevertheless, if you're using USB input devices and have DVI capable systems and monitor, this is the only KVM switch to get.
The box was damaged and appeared to have been opened but everything inside was fine.
