This phone does not pick up a dial tone from the handset. I have to go to the base unit and hit the speakerphone button before I can get a dial tone on the handsets. This has to be done when receiving a phone call as well to be able to hear the caller. It also performs very poorly with the sound quality of recorded messages on the answering system. I thought it would be nice to use the bluetooth feature to pair up my cell phone with this unit to receive mobile calls on as well, but the other shortcomings of this device have rendered it pretty much useless in my home. I regret purchasing this phone.
